Ann Bridges

Observational drawing is Ann’s particular interest. It is also the starting point for stencil-based paintings and original prints. Her drawn and printed images combine an eye for detail with an imaginative interpretation.

Recent drawings have been selected/shortlisted for The Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize in 2021 and 2023.

Formerly based in Ruthin in North Wales Ann is now living and working near Sevenoaks in Kent.

From 1995-1999 Ann studied Illustration at Yale College (Coleg Cambria) and the North Wales College of Art and Design (Glyndwr University) graduating with First Class Honours in Design.

A two year placement at Chester Zoological Gardens as Artist in Residence provided her with her first studio and the opportunity to develop and broaden her practice.

She has been awarded Arts Council funding for research and residency projects through visual diaries, drawings and sketchbooks.

Ann is a member of the Royal Cambrian Academy RCA
