Drawing is deeply important to me. I draw, paint and write about the things I see around me daily in a sketch book diary.

Ideas recorded in this way are developed into compositions to take on into the monoprintmaking process.

Subject matter can be anything that strikes me as having an interesting shape, or combination of colours. Sometimes it is a pattern that catches my eye, naturally formed or man made .

Amongst other things my sketch books contain drawings of buttons, beads, sweets, flowers, fruits, seeds and insects, all of which feature in my printed images.
