Sketch Books are my visual record of a specific period of time and place, drawn from direct observation.
Dian’s Garden was visited once a month until a whole year had been captured on paper in a series of drawings in a bespoke sketchbook, as a commission for her birthday
The concertina style ‘map’ of Wepre Park illustrates a meandering path through 160 acres of ancient woodland and surrounding area. I had a three month residency in this ancient woodland that is open to the public in Flintshire.
Plants that were just coming into flower in late spring were drawn in a flowing linear style using a fine black pen, moving from plant to plant in situ, taking about three weeks to complete.
‘Lady Bells’ is a sketchbook in concertina format designed to display a personal collection of objects that have special meaning.
Each project is individually priced according to time-scale, location and format of the sketchbook.
