Visual Diaries — Ann Bridges

This is an ongoing personal archive project, documenting the daily ins and outs of family life in A4 sketch books, presented as visual diaries.

The first sketch book was started in 1999, as a way of marking the end of the 20th Century and the beginning of a new era. The motive was, and still is, to leave a personal document based on drawings and written observations of everyday life.

To date there are approximately 5000 drawings which include the dog, the growing of vegetables, unsuitable shoes, sweets, holidays, weddings, new born babies and food (lots of food!).
